For some they are brought up with Gospel then discover soul music, unfortunately for me I discovered Gospel years after getting in to Soul music. My first introduction to Gospel was through the Blues Brothers and the legendary scene with James Brown performing his cover of ‘Old Landmark’. I start the ‘We Raise Our Hands’ mix with Aretha Franklin’s version as I would argue its way better.

However, I only really started to buy Gospel music when artists like ‘Sounds Of Blackness’ started breaking into the charts. I’ve featured a few of the more House influenced tracks I started to by in the early 90s on the ‘Happy Days’ mix. I hope you find joy in these uplifting mixes.
